Stan Collymore believes that Jose Mourinho should drop Wayne Rooney and bring Marcus Rashford into the starting line-up as his replacement.
There has been a lot of debate regarding whether Rooney currently merits a place in the United XI and there is a possibility that the skipper could be dropped for the upcoming round of matches following poor performances over the past few weeks.
Ex-Liverpool striker Collymore certainly feels that Rooney is no longer an integral part of the United side and has urged manager Mourinho to drop the 30-year-old captain in order to allow young gun Rashford to earn a place as the Number 9 in the line-up.
Collymore wrote in the Daily Mirror: “He has to tell Marcus Rashford he's his No9, dovetail him with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the No10 position, and give Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the right and Anthony Martial on the left the assurances and confidence they need.
“He can start doing that by moving Rooney on to pastures new."
