Atletico Madrid are closing on a deal for Chelsea striker Diego Costa, despite their transfer ban.

AS says the La Liga giants are ready to spend big once their transfer ban comes to an end after this summer's window.

Sevilla winger Vitolo and Malaga striker Sandro are both said to be on the verge of penning Atletico contracts which would see them both move to the Spanish capital next winter.

But Diego Simeone's marquee signing will apparently be Chelsea favourite Costa, who has long been linked with a return to his former club.

Costa appears to be staying put at Stamford Bridge this summer despite receiving lucrative offers from China.

But it now appears that rejoining Atletico is on the cards, with the report also claiming that Antoine Griezmann will sign a new deal too.
