Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood is still pinching himself over his meteoric rise to the Premier League.
The former Crewe Alexandra captain is in his second season at Villa.
Westwood told Villa's website: "I never thought when I came here that I would play so many games this early in my Villa career.
"That's something which has shocked me - and it has also shocked a lot of people back at Crewe!
"They never expected me to push on the way I have. So I'd like to thank the lads here for helping me to settle in so easily.
"I'd been at Crewe since I was six and I have some close friends there.
"I speak to the manager and the staff and they are always looking at my progress.
"I go back now and again, and it's always nice to see them."
