Westwood rejecting bigger Man City offer for Sunderland move

Keiren Westwood is rejecting a mega bucks offer from Manchester City to sign with Sunderland.

The Coventry City goalkeeper is set to join Sunderland on a Bosman.

The Journal says last-ditch efforts by Wolves and Portsmouth to land the Manchester-born player have come to nothing after his advisors informed potential suitors that he is favouring a move to Wearside, where the lure of first-team football is strong.

Indeed, while Manchester City - where he began his career - offered far more money than Sunderland, the ambitious former Carlisle goalkeeper has absolutely no interest in playing second fiddle to Joe Hart.
