Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood has been impressed by the club's summer signings.

Westwood has spent plenty of time with Leandro Bacuna, Aleksandar Tonev, Antonio Luna, Nicklas Helenius, Jores Okore and Jed Steer over the past week in Germany.

He told Villa's website: "All the newboys are settling in really well. They have all bought into what the manager wants straight away.

"You have to work hard with the gaffer. That's what he demands.

"He commands respect because of what he done in the game, as a player and as a manager.

"His overall ethos, of how you conduct yourself on and off the pitch, everyone buys into that.

"The newboys certainly do. They are hungry players who are up for the fight. Hopefully they can continue to build the club."
