Westwood hails Villa team spirit
Westwood believes the close-knit atmosphere at Villa, allied to the unwavering confidence the manager gives his players, has been pivotal in the on-going transformation.
The ex-Crewe man, a £2million buy 14 months ago, said: "There's a team bond here. We all get on, we're like a big family. It's a lovely club to be at.
"That's shown from the start of this season. We don't want what happened last year to happen again - we want to be looking up rather than down. It's up to us to do that. The gaffer is showing immense faith in us and it's time to pay him back.
"He doesn't allow you to question yourself. He makes you believe in your own ability. He's been brilliant for that.
"As a young team, some of those games last season could have got the better of us but we have come through it and now we're doing well."
