West Ham's Morrison set for January trial on assault allegations

West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison will go on trial next year over allegations that he threatened to throw acid in the face of his ex-girlfriend and have her killed, reports The Guardian. The 21-year-old former Manchester United player is also accused of threatening to blow up Reah Mansoor's house in a course of harassment against her lasting four years.

He is additionally accused of assaulting the 19-year-old and her mother, Parveen Mansoor in Salford in the early hours of 27 July.

In a brief appearance at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday, Morrison entered not-guilty pleas to two counts of assault of beating, one of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of harassment.

He will next appear for a case management hearing on 10 November, with a provisional trial date set for 26 January.
