West Ham's Bowyer has positive surgery

West Ham United midfielder Lee Bowyer has undergone successful hernia surgery.

He has returned to light training after undergoing surgery in Germany.

Bowyer is suspended for the home match against Tottenham on November 25 but expected to be available for the trip to Chelsea six days later.

"Lee is already walking around which is a very good sign that things went well," said West Ham head physiotherapist George Cooper.

"He will begin light running on Monday - building up to full speed throughout the week then will begin full training the following Monday.
