West Ham United striker Sean Maguire, who is currently on loan at Accrington Stanley, has expressed his delight on his first call-up from Republic of Ireland U21 squad.
The 20-year-old has been asked to join Noel King's group as a late inclusion for their Euro2017 qualifying clash with Andorra on Thursday.
Maguire has attributed the call-up to the fact that he has been playing regularly under John Coleman at Stanley this season.
Speaking to the League Two club's official website, Maguire said: "I'm delighted to be called up.
"It's an honour to be recognised by your country and I hope I'll get the chance to play.
"First-team football at Accrington has made a huge difference to me this season and I'm grateful to everyone at the club for the opportunity.
"To get an international call-up after a great time playing regularly this season is just fantastic."
