Aston Villa are contemplating whether to sign Robert Snodgrass on loan, according to the Sun.

The West Ham United winger, who signed with the club in January from Hull City for £10.2m, made just 8 starts in 15 appearances with the Hammers last season.

Villa boss Steve Bruce is keen to bolster his squad ahead of what is to be another gruelling Championship campaign.

The Midlands club spent an incredible £78.5m last year and owner Tony Xiu has warned Bruce that their isn't the funds to emulate that amount this summer.

Villa have spent just £2.5m on fees so far, with £1.5m given to Stoke City for Glenn Whelan and £1m for Ahmed Mohamady.
