West Ham United youngster Alfie Lewis is delighted after he was given an opportunity to play for the club during their 3-1 friendly victory against Dagenham and Redbridge.

The 18-year-old was given an opportunity to play in midfield by David Moyes and it marked the first time that he played for the first-team.

During the game, Lewis was allowed to play the full 90 minutes and he earned praise for his performance in midfield.

"I'm delighted," Lewis confirmed to the club's website.

"It was a good experience for me tonight, to play with the likes of Patrice Evra, and Mark Noble in midfield. It was a good challenge and a good test for us as well, and I think I did well."
