FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Julian Baumgartlinger is attracting Premier League interest.

The Austria international is being watched by West Ham United as they consider alternatives to on-loan Barcelona midfielder Alex Song.

Baumgartlinger, 27, comes off contract at Mainz in June and is also interesting Hannover.

The midfielder is known for his defensive game and boasts 31 caps with Austria.

Unlike Hannover, West Ham are free to now negotiate Bosman terms with Baumgartlinger.
