West Ham waiting on Valencia scan

West Ham United are sweating over the fitness of star striker Enner Valencia following his injury against Stoke City on Saturday.

Valencia had only made a return to full fitness recently following his freak injury at home where he cut his toe by stepping on a broken glass.

Upon his return, however, the striker was dealt another blow after being forced off early in West Ham's 1-1 draw against Stoke over the weekend with an apparent foot injury. Valencia has now moved on reveal that he will have to go through scans in order to determine the seriousness of the problem ahead of the weekend's trip to Manchester City.

The Ecuadorian international told the club's official website: "I don't know yet how serious it is, as they are going to run a scan on Monday.

"It was not done on purpose a Stoke player stepped backwards and onto my foot. I think I have a little bit of an injury on my foot, but we have to run a scan on Monday to be sure."
