Carlton Cole is hopeful of landing a new deal with West Ham United.

The veteran striker comes off contract next month.

"I haven't spoken to the manager (Sam Allardyce) about the future," admitted Cole. "It's difficult because the manager doesn't know about his own future yet.

"Whether I'm here or somewhere else though, I will always give 100 per cent. I would like to stay of course but we'll see how things go.

"I've been here a long time. I have a connection with the fans and all the back-room staff. You could say I'm part of the furniture.

"If I'm not still here next season though, I would like to wish the club good luck. As for me, I will carry on with my life."
