West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio is hoping that his side will bounce back against Bournemouth in the second game of the season.
The Hammers suffered a brutal 4-0 defeat at Anfield against Liverpool on opening day.
Their goalkeeper is the only reason the score was not even worse. And Antonio is hoping all the players deliver the appropriate response in their next game.
He said to the club's official website: "Liverpool away on the first day of the season is a good challenge – the result in the end is a difficult one, but I think we performed better than 4-0.
"Liverpool have one of the best records at home, so we kick on and our season starts next week against Bournemouth.
"We've signed nine players, and some of them have had pre-season with us but some of them came quite late, so we haven't played much with them. We'll get together and we'll gel.
"I managed to get a start for the first game of the season and you need those players behind you who will threaten your position because it makes you want to play better and fight to stay in the team.
"I'm determined to keep my position. I've shown by playing in multiple positions that I just want to play and hopefully I can keep the shirt."
