West Ham see Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson as a replacement for Dimitri Payet.
The Daily Express says Irons boss Slaven Bilic has singled out Icelandic star Sigurdsson, who has scored five goals this season and is also a target for Everton, as the man he wants to step into the shoes of Payet, who he revealed on Thursday has gone on strike and refused to pay for the club.
West Ham have already turned down one bid of £20m from Marseille for Payet, 29, and have vowed not to sell him this month, but a higher offer could force their hand.
Sigurdsson has also been linked with Everton this month.
