West Ham United must double their offer if they want to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy.

The Lancashire Telegraph says West Ham are believed to have bid in the region of £1.2million for McCarthy but it is believed Rovers would want at least double that before being tempted into parting with his services.

Rovers have already stated they need to sell before they can buy but know they would struggle to replace McCarthy for the sums West Ham are currently talking about.

Turkish outfit Galatasaray are also understood to be tracking McCarthy.
