West Ham United are set to make a move for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Hammers unsuccessfully tried to sign the 28-year-old last summer, and again in January, and it is understood that they now sense a good opportunity to finally sign him as the Black Cats seem destined for relegation.
Kone wanted to leave the Black Cats last summer but was convinced by manager David Moyes to stay at the club, but with their Championship fate almost sealed, it appears as though Kone may get his wish and be able to move on at season's end.
West Ham are eager to bring in defensive reinforcements in the summer and have made Kone one of their priorities.
