West Ham are not dropping their pursuit of Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles.
The Mirror says West Ham are ready to return with a fresh bid after seeing a £25million move for Lascelles rejected by Newcastle.
The Irons are stepping up their transfer activity after landing four players - including Jack Wilshere on a free transfer this week.
Newcastle, however, insist Lascelles is not for sale.
Everton are also involved in the battle for the highly-rated 24-year-old who returned to the Magpies for pre-season training last week.
Along with Wilshere, Pellegrini has landed centre-back Issa Diop, goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and full-back Ryan Fredericks.
