West Ham have launched a bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Daily Mail says the Irons have made an opening bid of £17.5million move for Yarmolenko.

Director of football Mario Husillos spoke to Dortmund counterpart Michael Zorc last week with the Bundesliga side open to a deal despite only signing the Ukraine international from Dinamo Kiev last year.

Yarmolenko has 77 caps for his country and has scored 35 goals but has scored just three in 18 for Dortmund.

West Ham are looking at alternative options after talks for Felipe Anderson of Lazio stalled though they do expect to announce the signing of Jack Wilshere this week.
