West Ham United have signed Egyptian striker Mido on loan from Middlesbrough for four months. The player insisted that he was back in the Premier League to show just what a good player he really was, despite some recent inconsistent spells at Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic.

"I had to sacrifice some things but I'm here to play football again and I'm here to prove a point - definitely," the striker told Sky Sports News.

"I'm very happy to be here and it's a great club. I'm sure I will do well here, hopefully."
