West Ham striker Cole hit with FA fine for Twitter altercation

The Football Association has fined Carlton Cole £20,000 for a recent comment he made on Twitter.

?The Hammers striker placed an abusive and insulting message on the social networking site in response to an initial post sent by a Tottenham supporter.

?The FA have deemed his actions to be inappropriate and have opted to fine Cole while warning him over his future conduct.

?Cole reacted angrily during his Twitter altercation with the Spurs supporter after the 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane on February 22.?
