Carlton Cole is gutted over his injury suffered on England duty.
The West Ham striker has been replaced in Fabio Capello's squad by Darren Bent after pulling a thigh muscle against Slovakia on Saturday.
Cole, 25, managed just 20 minutes as a first-half sub for Emile Heskey before suffering his injury.
He admitted: "With Emile going off it was a great opportunity to show what I can do.
"But I tried to shoot and I felt a sharp strain in my groin. I've never had an injury like this.
"The Slovak defence just caved in at the end and there would have been a real chance for me to get my first England goal.
"I'd felt really good in the build-up to the game. So I'm really disappointed I couldn't carry on that good work into the match."
