West Ham United are holding out hope of signing Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.
The Evening Chronicle says reports from the capital insist that the Hammers are prepared to smash their transfer record to bring him to Upton Park.
However, it remains to be seen whether they can convince him that East London is the best place for him to advance his career.
Carroll shares the same agent as Sam Allardyce and Kevin Nolan in Mark Curtis and there are plenty of factors to lure him to the East End.
