West Ham step up bid for Bolton keeper Jaaskelainen

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is stepping up his bid for Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Allardyce is turning to the off contract Finn after it was confirmed Robert Green was leaving the club yesterday.

PA Sport says the 37-year-old, who is also out of contract, will sign this week subject to passing a medical.

Jaaskelainen will compete with Stephen Henderson, whose loan move from Portsmouth became permanent last month, to be the club's number one next season.
