West Ham snub £22.5m Payet offer from Marseille

West Ham United have rejected a third bid from Olympique Marseille for Dimitri Payet.

The protracted transfer wrangling of the French playmaker is set to continue after the Hammers turned down a bid of around £22.5million, according to Sky Sports.

A source close to Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud told Sky that the proposal was snubbed by the Hammers, who deem it as unacceptable.

Additionally, RMC reports that Marseille are expected to make a fourth offer for Payet that will be closer to West Ham's £30m valuation.

The report from France indicates that Marseille WILL get the France international before the end of the January transfer window, especially seeing as he is unlikely to again play for the Hammers.

The 29-year-old, who arrived in East London from Marseille for £10.7m last summer, has been training with West Ham's U23s and is keen to return to his homeland as soon as possible.

The two clubs remain in negotiations and it is understood that the transfer will be completed prior to the January 31 deadline.
