West Ham snap up Everton keeper Wright

West Ham United have snapped up Everton goalkeeper Richard Wright on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old former Ipswich Town and Arsenal stopper becomes Hammers' boss Alan Curbishley's third summer arrival.

Wright made 71 appearances for the Toffees after signing for £3.5m in July 2002, but his time at Goodison Park was blighted by injuries.

The goalkeeper, who has made two appearances for England, played just twice for Everton last season.

Wright impressed during his early career at Ipswich and earned a £6m move to Arsenal in the summer of 2001.
