Simone Zaza hopes he can maintain the successful Italian connection at West Ham.
The striker has signed for the Irons initially on-loan from Juventus.
Asked about Hammers legend Paolo di Canio, Zaza told whufc.com: “I know how important Di Canio is for this Club. He is in love with West Ham. I saw him talking on television about West Ham and how much he enjoyed his time at the Club. I would like to follow him and have a similar impact."
On former Juve teammate Angelo Ogbonna, he also stated: "Of course I am very happy to see him. When I asked him what it was like at West Ham he only told me good things and it was like a family. The football here is different and has different traditions but I am very happy to see him again."
