Terry Dixon says he won't rush his return to football after signing a three-year deal with West Ham United this week.
The Irish striker was offloaded by Tottenham last year after a series of knee injuries, but has fought back to win a contract at London rivals West Ham.
"There isn't really a rush but I would like to try and get involved in the first team towards the end of the season as long as everything is ok with the club as they may be kicking on for Europe," Dixon told WHUTV.
"We'll see what happens as I'd like to get a few games under my belt for the reserves and then show the manager what I can do. I just want to pay the club back."
