West Ham United signing Morgan Amalfitano has defended the manner of his departure from Olympique Marseille.

It's been claimed Amalfitano played up during preseason training and clashed with coach Marcelo Bielsa.

But he insisted on RMC: "Many things have been said, I want to correct them. I did not make any fuss (in training. I cannot say that our relationship was good or bad because there was no exchange, so that's why it has become complicated and it's still complicated.

"I can tell you that at the end of July, it's the only time we had a meeting.

"I was with Ben Cheyrou and simply asked why things were happening like they were. Why the coach in front of us told us that the President no longer wanted us, so when I asked the President, he told us that it was the coach.

"After this, what can you do? When there is no contact, you cannot share your ideas."
