West Ham seek Man Utd talks over Fellaini loan

West Ham are eyeing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini for January.

The London Evening Standard says Hammers manager Slaven Bilic feels the Belgium international could provide some much-needed physicality, either as a holding midfielder or to supplement a misfiring forward line.

West Ham have badly missed the physical presence of the injury-prone Andy Carroll since the start of the season, although the striker did return as a sub last weekend in the 5-1 humbling by Arsenal — and scored.

A move for Fellaini, 29, could suit both clubs.

Manchester United fans have been far from convinced about the former Everton player, even more so after he came on in the second half against his former club at Goodison Park on Sunday and conceded a clumsy penalty that denied his team three points.
