West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is chasing Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

But with funds limited at Upton Park, Zola may have to persuade Barca to settle on a season-long loan to get Gudjohnsen to the club, says the Daily Star.

Zola said: "We are trying to spot what our weaknesses are. Certainly we need to improve up front and that is the majority of the job."
