West Ham secure services of Diame from Wigan

West Ham United have signed Mohamed Diame on a three-year deal.

The 25-year old Senegalese midfielder will depart Wigan Athletic when his current contract expires at the end of the month and will officially become a Hammers player on July 1.

Diame, who was a target for Liverpool, admitted his delight at signing a deal with the promoted East London club who are back in the Premier League after winning last season's Championship play-off.

"I'm very happy and very excited to have joined the club and I'm looking forward to the start of the season," he told the club's official website.

"I know the fans here get behind the team all the time and I'm looking forward to showing everybody what I can do on the pitch."
