West Ham's Grant charged with improper conduct

West Ham United manager Avram Grant has been charged by the Football Association with improper conduct following his side's FA Cup loss to Stoke City on Sunday.

The Israeli made some comments directed at match official Mike Jones after some questionable decisions during the clash at Britannia Stadium which the Potters won 2-1.

The home side were awarded a penalty immediately after the second half begun and Grant was critical of the decision even though the spot kick was missed by Matthew Etherington.

Grant indicated that he felt the call by Jones was only to square up for an earlier error when Frederic Piquionne appeared to handle the ball ahead of the Hammers' first goal which canceled out Robert Huth's header.

The Hammers boss has until 4pm on the 21st of March to respond to the charge given by the FA.
