West Ham will compete with Newcastle United for Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabricio Coloccini.
The shaggy-haired Coloccini started his career with Boca Juniors before earning a move to the San Siro in 1999. However, he failed to settle in Italy and was loaned out to the likes of Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal in Spain, before completing a permanent move to Deportivo in 2004.
