The race for Barnsley winger Adam Hammill is heating up.

The Mirror says West Ham boss Avram Grant has joined the battle to sign Hammill in January.

Hammill, 22, has a £500,000 buy-out clause and a host of scouts were at yesterday's derby with Sheffield United.

Everton, Bolton, Wigan, Wolves and Blackpool are also interested.
