West Ham United are reviving their bid for Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton.
The Daily Mail says Barton is available on a free transfer, and Sam Allardyce is keen to reunite the 28-year-old with Kevin Nolan at the heart of West Ham's midfield.
The former Manchester City midfielder would be forced to take a pay cut from his current £80,000-a-week wages.
A move to the Championship club also hinges on the future of wantaway midfielder Scott Parker.
