Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole will not be making a return to West Ham United according to co-owner David Gold.
The former England international, who spent the season on loan with French club Lille, has been linked with a move back to Upton Park but Gold is remaining realistic about that possibility.
"He didn't come up on Sam Allardyce's list of players he wants to sign a couple of months ago.
"Whether that's still the case, only time will tell.""It's going to be a busy summer," he said. "Joe Cole moving to West Ham would be a fantastic and romantic thing to happen but I would be very, very surprised.
