West Ham striker Robert Hall has been recalled from his loan spell at League Two Oxford. The 18-year-old has scored six times in 10 appearances.
Oxford chairman Kelvin Thomas was disappointed but accepted such an eventuality was always possible.
"The timing is tough as we had begun discussions on extending his loan for a longer period and there would have been no issue with this without West Ham's injury problems," Thomas told the club's official website.
"The positive is that it is great for Robbie. He has come here, played well, scored goals and had that little bit of experience.
"West Ham are very happy with the way he has been looked after and the way he has played and have taken him back to be involved with the first-team squad."
