West Ham United are entering the race for Middlesbrough striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
The Mirror says Yakubu, 24, who joined Boro for £7.5million from Pompey in July 2005, has told Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate he wants to quit the Riverside. And Everton, Man City and Portsmouth have all expressed an interest in the striker despite Boro's insistence that the star is going nowhere.
Yakubu's £10 million price-tag would not be a problem to West Ham boss Alan Curbishley, who is keen to strengthen his forward line and has been handed millions to spend by Icelandic chairman Eggert Magnusson.
