West Ham quickly wipe Dimitri Payet from their history

West Ham have quickly moved to wipe Dimitri Payet from their history.

The Sun says they began to wipe away all traces of Dimitri Payet by removing his picture from the club's London Stadium ground.

Payet's image is being replaced by a large-scale print recreating Andy Carroll's stunning overhead-kick goal against Crystal Palace.

And a giant West Ham shirt with Payet's name and old 27 squad number which hangs from the ceiling inside the stadium is also being dismantled.

A Hammers source said: “We think that should come down before the fans do it for us."
