West Ham push for Arsenal striker Chamakh

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is eyeing Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.

The Daily Express says the club have made a bid to take the former Bordeaux star on loan until the end of the campaign, with a view to a permanent move.

Arsenal want to sell rather than loan out players, and Chamakh is available at only about £1.5 million, so Allardyce may opt to make it a permanent deal straightaway.
