West Ham United refuse to concede defeat to Newcastle United in the battle for Marseille striker Loic Remy.

The Daily Mail says agent Willie McKay held talks in London with Marseille president Vincent Labrune on Tuesday evening and a proposal has been discussed that could see West Ham's Modibo Maiga go the other way.

Gabriel Obertan had been proposed as part of negotiations to take France international Remy to Newcastle and talks will continue over the next few days.
