West Ham players furiously delete Payet from WhatsApp group

West Ham United players have snubbed want-away playmaker Dimitri Payet.

It is being reported that the Frenchman has been deleted from the Hammers' WhatsApp message group and was also banned from a night out this week.

The 29-year-old is desperate to return to former club Olympique Marseille and recently even refused to train with Slaven Bilic's squad.

It is understood that club captain Mark Noble and veteran defender James Collins used the chat app to inform Payet he is not considered part of the playing group.

Pedro Obiang then told Payet he was not welcome in any team conversations before deleting his number from the group.

A former West Ham employee told The West Ham Way radio show: "The team are all part of a Whatsapp group, and they were all messaging each other to arrange going out for dinner at the start of this week.

"Then one of the players said 'Actually, thinking about it Dimi, we don't want you to come'.

"Another player then told him he wasn't invited because none of the players are happy with what he was doing to the club.

"Then the admin came out and told he he wasn't wanted and didn't belong in the group, before deleting him.

"It was Mark Noble and James Collins who spoke up, then Pedro Obiang who removed him from the group. They basically don't want anything to do with him."

Discussions between West Ham and Marseille are still taking place but it is believed that Payet will be sold this January after telling the East London outfit he wants to go home.
