West Ham United are looking increasingly likely to hold a firesale of players in January.
The Daily Mail says the West Ham financial crisis is so bad that a firesale in the January transfer window looks increasingly likely, with England squad central defender Matthew Upson one of those on his way out of Upton Park.
Certainly, West Ham couldn't afford to turn down any £12million offer for Upson. Meanwhile, the club's effective owners, collapsed Icelandic bank Straumur, need to convince creditors of their future at a meeting next month, while former manager Alan Curbishley winning his constructive dismissal case against the club will only add to West Ham's money woes.
