West Ham United have not given up on signing Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario.
Mario has struggled to hold down a starting place at Inter this season and the San Siro giants are prepared to let him leave this month on loan with an option to buy.
The 24-year-old was part of the Portugal squad which prevailed during the Euro 2016 Championships, and is keen to leave Inter this month in order to play more regularly so that he can secure himself a place in the Portugal squad that will travel to Russia for the 2018 world cup.
He was initially hesitant about moving to the Hammers but has now reportedly informed his advisors that he is "more open-minded" about the idea of moving to the London Stadium.
