West Ham owners confident Zola can guide club to safety

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold insists the new board have full confidence in manager Gianfranco Zola.

Gold declared his confidence that Zola would lead the side to Premier League safety.

"We've got a football club that hasn't had leaders. It has been in many ways a rudderless ship.

"David (Gold) and Karren (Brady) are two of the best people to help that. I know I'm tempting fate but I believe we can pull out of the relegation zone and that we can take (the club) to the next step, which is securing the future of the football club."
