West Ham United have opened talks with Santos Laguna striker Christian Benitez.
The Daily Mail says the representatives of Birmingham's former loan striker Benitez have held further talks with West Ham over a deal for the Ecuador international.
Birmingham believed Benitez's £7m price tag from Mexican club Santos Laguna was too costly, but West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan is an admirer.
