West Ham United have opened talks with Fiorentina for striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
The Times says Osvaldo has been given permission to leave Fiorentina and the striker would prefer to move to England rather than Bologna, the Serie A club who have tabled a £5.5 million bid.
The 23-year-old played under Gianfranco Zola, the West Ham manager, for the Italy Under-21 team.
