West Ham officials in Europe to buy strikers

West Ham chief Scott Duxbury and sporting director Gianluca Nani are currently in Europe trying to sort out deals for strikers.

Barcelona's Eidur Gudjohnsen and Bayern Munich's Luca Toni are believed to be the targets for the Hammers who are in desperate need of some strike power with Carlton Cole the only fit striker.

Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola has been keen on former Chelsea man Gudjohnsen for some time now but the link with Toni is fresh.

Finances at Upton Park are tight so it is expected that one or both of the players will have to join on a loan deal.
